Can't get in to computer

I have a toshiba lap top brand new, and I forgot the password now there is no way I can get into the computer, I have tried everything and i sent a letter to Toshiba and they suggested I look on this web site, I am at a loss, there is no way the computer will even let me reset another password until I can find the password I startd with and I have no idea what it was. If somebody out there can help me I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

Ive tried everything but without my password for my PC i cant get into my computer

I had a PIN set on my computer. My son was watching a movie and the computer went off, when he powered it back up it came up with password. When I tried my PIN it came up saying "PC is offline. Use password that was used the last time you logged on" it would not accept my PIN. I'm assuming this is the windows password. But since I've never set one I don't know what it is.

UUkeys Windows Password is a great tool to reset windows local password. I tested it on Windows 7 and 10. works great

Hi,

If you're using a Microsoft account you can reset a forgotten Windows 8 password online.

If you're using a local account you must use Windows password recovery application. Try to find in the internet, some of them are free like "PC Login now", "Ophcrack", "Kon-boot"...

And finally, you can re-install Windows but you will lost all your data.

If you mean the Windows password, you can follow the steps below:

1. Download Windows Password Key in another accessible PC.

2. Run the downloaded file and install it.

3. Burn a reset CD/DVD/USB with Windows Password Key.

4. Reset your Windows password with the created disk above.

If you mean the bios password, please refer to the following steps:

Step 1: Open your computer case to examine the motherboard. Remove the CMOS battery. Gently pry the battery from its housing and reinsert the battery after 10 minutes. If this works and you don’t see the password prompt, then you have successfully reset the BIOS password. Otherwise, follow the steps below.

Step 2: Locate the jumpers near the edge of the board or near the CPU or the CMOS battery. Find “Clear CMOS” or “Clear Password”. Place the jumper over the pins and restart your computer. If this doesn't work, try step 3.

Step 3: Enter a password after receiving the password prompt. If you have an Award BIOS, try “AWARD PW”. If you have a Phoenix BIOS, try “CMOS”.

I am very dissatisfy with Microsoft customer support team service. I had a issue with office 365 , “excel” and power point stop working on my laptop .I am doing my bachelor and need to download at least 20-30 power point and word file weekly and can’t spend time in all this kind of crazy problems. So I open help online and started online support . He offer me support and control over my laptop and fixed excel problem. After that he asked me to restart computer in safe mode (I think). When the computer restart I try to login with my outlook ac and my laptop screen showed me the password is incorrect and also stop connected the Wi-Fi internet. I am using the same a/c for my other laptop and it work on my other computer. I reset the password and it still not work on the laptop that I faced all issues I mentioned here.

Then I reconnect your Microsoft team with other computer. There was another Tech talked online more than one hr. and give me some suggestion but nothing worked to solve the problem. I requested him 7 times to connect me any supervisor or a senior so I will discuss my problem. He continuously ignore my request and stop reply me. When I wrote that I will find any senior no and send the copy of chat to him than he gave me a phone no, he told me if I need to fix my problem I need to pay me $ 300 because it will fix with paid service because I don’t have backup cd. that was my experience with Microsoft company’s service, I can’t open my laptop that is very valuable for me not because money because I have my first child 4 years of memory in pictures and videos. I have all his heart beats which I recorded before he was born and my unborn daughter’s heart beats of my all doctor visits. Along that I have all my recorded lectures of college and other important information.

I was very disappointed and frustrated with this issue. It waste my time, give me mental tension and I need to pay to fix my computer. it happens in September 2015 and try everything but cant get in. Yesterday i found the way by myself.

i turn o n power with holding 0 button it ask you to reboot , choose yes. follow following commends. it shows you to resetting without changing in your file and only delete apps , choose that option . it take time (my computer took around 3 hr.) than computer restart and give me the option of login with pin and password. I entered my old pin and TADA i was in :) without loose any data .

THANK YOU, Zurus! Your post and advice also let me reset the password I'd forgotten on MY Toshiba laptop! Minus another available computer, as so many "experts" said I'd need to recover this password (along with $50! ), I was stuck!

I tried what you did, though, and held down the number "0" key while restarting my laptop. I was given several options, including resetting my hard drive or "soft"-setting it - more action than I had after HOURS of trying to recall my logon password! (And which I'm certain I entered several times over!)

Even losing certain documents is BETTER - for me - than NEVER being able to EVER use my laptop again! Thanks so much for posting this!

Well since nobody can confirm which password was lost, I'll have to assume it was windows. reboot the computer, after the toshiba screen goes away begin tapping F8 key. You will get a list of options, choose safe mode with networking. It should bring up the user screen, showing your account, and Administrator. Login as administrator first try with no password, but it's probably gonna prompt you for a password, try all your normal passwords. One of them is the one you put in when the computer was first setup, it prompted you to set an admin password. And you haven't used that account since which is why it's unfamiliar.

Since this is a brand new computer, I assume you probably don't have much personal data on it, ie pictures etc.. worst case scenario have toshiba walk you through reinstalling windows. It's not hard and you can't mess it up, infact it should be automated but it can be fixed.

I just signed in with my Microsoft password and it worked. I had forgotten my Toshiba laptop password.

I had the same problem and I got on you tube and typed how to get my password on a toshiba windows 10, I followed the steps and reset it and got right on my computer. U need another device so u can type in account. Live. Com/passwordreset. Follow instructions on what to do and it should fix your problem.

All you have to do is shut it down and power it up again while holding down the "0" button util it comes up with an error then press factory reset =)
