PS3 Slim YLOD 50/50 before reflowing, 0 after.

Hi,

I have a PS3 Slim that suffers from the YLOD.

Previously the YLOD was a 50/50 chance of occurring.

The PS3 would still eject discs if there are any in the slot then YLOD and turn off, the HDD indicator will flicker orange for a short duration before YLOD as well.

The same characteristics are exhibited when the HDD is removed from the set.

On the other occasions when it boots past the YLOD phase, it works with no problems and i can continue gaming as if my PS3 doesnt have any issues, for hours on end.

Using elimination, i concluded that the issue was not coming from the HDD nor was it due to a heat issue as my PS3 would run for hours and not overheat. (good ventilation).

Earlier tonight, i did a reflowing for my PS3, after that, reapplied thermal paste, closed it up and the PS3 YLODs immediately on power on, with & without HDD and it will not even eject my disc.

General inspection of my PS3 Slim is that it is clean as a whistle otherwise. I thought after 4 years plus it would require cleaning, but i guess keeping it off the ground drastically reduces the amount of dust.

I have triple checked the ribbons and cables to ensure that everything is as it should be.

Sorry to trouble you, but would you have any advice for this to bring my PS3 back to a running state?

Also, for this occurrence are there any other factors that i might be missing as well?
