Power on; no boot; no video
My MacBook will charge, the front light goes on, I can hear the hard disk, but I have no video and the OS does not boot. Is this logic board? Any other options?
Is dit een goede vraag?

Here's a couple of options: hook it up to an external monitor, if it works then the problems is isolated to the video cables and/or screen.
Hook up to another mac via a firewire cable and start up holding down the "T" key. This will give you access to the hard drive and the other mac and you can run Disk Utilities on the hard drive. This also would check the motherboard.
Once you have isolated the problem, you can attempt repair using this teardown: MacBook Core 2 Duo LCD Panel Replacement
I would first do a visual examination of the cables and inverter board: MacBook Core 2 Duo Inverter Replacement

Will target mode work on the faulty MacBook, since it does not boot normally?
No. But you don't have many options here so I'd try everything. To fix a problem, you have to find it.

You say you have no video. Do you mean a completely black screen or a gray screen ?
