My iPod turns dark then light repeatitly it keeps flashing and its so annoying if i look at it for more than 10 sseconds my eyes start to hurt and i want to make it stop. Do i go to an apple store?

the flashing could come from a empty battery, if the voltage is to low, the ipod could not be charged via the usb port, the freshly charged energy is not enough to start the device fully and thats why it switches off again - this loop can go for days (had this on a few motorola phones) - but if you use an ac charger it will charge the ipod over this point!

Maybe the connectors are loose
if its under warranty have apple deal with it

warranty? - it's a 3rd generation nano!
mine isn't under warranty, i took out the battery and connected it to my computer just using the usb wire, still just flashing,
any advice?

My dad had that happen to him he replaced the battery and it worked or take that battery off and put it back on worked for us
