Why won't my iPhone connect back onto the Sprint network?

I had a broken screen so I used a how to on this site to repair the front screen. After I put it all back together it worked fine. The screen turns on, the Internet works when connected to wifi & I get texts from other iPhones. The phone itself works great. But I took it into a Sprint store to connect it back on my plan and it wouldn't work. They reset my phone and it still didn't work. This was the first time I ever took my iPhone apart so I really have no idea what could cause this or how to fix it. Please help me ifixit!

Does the phone show its IMEI under settings? If not, you have damaged the baseband which can happen accidentally when prying the battery up.

Take the motherboard out and see if you can see any missing components or damaged/loose ones around the edges if the motherboard.

If the phone just says searching and is on iOS 6, there is a known issue after any repair when you disconnect the battery that you need to manually reset the date/time--but this is less likely for you since you we're connected to wifi and it would have set automatically.

Update

That would be a board-level repair which would mean you'd need to be experienced and equipped to solder surface mounted components under the microscope. Procedurally, you'd just locate the damaged components on the logic board, then replace them with the same components taken off another board.

This really is a professional-level repair. The good news is that the phone still has some resale value for parts.

How do I repair the baseband? Or is there a link that would show me step by step? I think that's what's wrong, I can't find the IMEI number. I'm not familiar with iPhone repair, so I'm not sure what everything is and where it supposed to be.
