Can I install a Hybrid HD in optical bay?
I want to replace my optical drive with a Seagate 1 TB hybrid HD.
I'm concerned because of the PATA interface data rate. Which data rate can I expect from this drive in my computer? Could I run Protools projects on it? Could it be better to replace with a pure SSD HD?
Is dit een goede vraag?

Thank you very much for your response.
So, besides swapping the system HD and upgrading the RAM to 6 Gb, on the performances side it's better a 400 Firewire disk than a HD in optical bay, isn't it?
I'm thinking about the upgrades you suggested to me….

External FireWire 800 case is best. Internally you'll be adding extra heat and besides your new drive (HD or SSHD) can be larger (i.e. 1/2/4 TB) so you really don't need the space internally. What you really need is a HD for backup or if you already have a backup solution then use this drive as a bootable spare drive to hold your OS updates and disk tools to maintain your HD performance (repairing and defragmenting it).
