A friend has taken a phone to have the screen replaced.
After the repair the phone has very poor signal. I've done a soft reset/ hard reset. I then checked and the antenna is correctly attached and the bars in the right place.
I know on older models the short is something to motherboard. Can this affect the 5 too.
Anyone found any fixes?

Did you all disconnect the battery terminal when you done this repair?

Some of the models of 5 and 5s even 5c have different screens i have noticed some are a little bit thicker and it can cause a huge draw on the battery I heard of this problem before and they claimed it was because the screen that was replaced was thinner than the one they received. Because of the different companies that make the screen
But you couldn't even connect a 5c or 5s screen to a iPhone 5 cause the connector is the opposite way around
Maybe the different companies that make them I am unsure of the validity of the info I had received but it made perfect sense if a company cheaply makes a iPhone 5 screen it could take more power thus increasing the heat and lowing the signal because it doesn't have the power to operate at full strength. That is why I asked for feedback to see if their is truth to their claim. My personal experience with them I haven't had this issue but I have heard a lot about it.
Makes sense I wonder did these boys disconnect the battery if so they could have knocked off componants around it..
Same issue as mine!! Looking foward to find a solution! :(

I'm having the exact same problem. Just replaced my screen, and now I have very little signal and the phone's battery drains really fast and the phone gets hot. All I did was replace the screen, and this isn't the first screen I've replaced. It didn't do this before on the other phone on which I replaced the screen.

Check connections it may be heating up because of a poor connection also double check the screen if possible if its for a different model iPod it will have a huge draw for the power making the signal weak. Let me know if this helps please.
