My Home Button and sleep Button don't work after dropping in water?

I dropped my iPod touch in some water. I put it in rice and it dried out everything works apart from the power on button and the home button only works if you push it in hard ( most of the time though it doesn't work altogether) I have restored it again and again but that does not work.

Also now and then the slide to turn off thing appears or it goes to sleep

Does anyone know how to fix it?
