I have following issue with my iPhone 4S.
I can't be heard if I'm calling someone on the other side.
If I'm recording a video the sound is good.
If I'm taking voice record the sound is recorded very quiet.
Summary:
*Calling - bad-no noise
What is wrong with my iPhone 4S?

Sounds like a bad mic. Replace the dock connector to replace the mic. Follow this guide. Hope this helps, good luck.

There is 2 different mic in iPhone . one is for VIdeo Recording or 1 is for calling. check if you use the voice memo then upper side of mic in iPhone will work and also in recording . if you calling some then lower mic next to speaker will work . you have one things to change is Dock flex cable then use it . Check problem solved or not? otherwise logic board need repair . 4S mic problem is difficult to repair. if iPhone is in warranty then visit the Apple service provider they will replace the phone will new iPhone. if out of warranty then they will charge you for replacing with new iPhone . i will cost approx less than 200$ . they will give you the new iPhone.
