deciding left or right fan?
Fan at left of keyboard sounds like a weed eater. I need to replace it. What orientation determines the side of the fan? Looking at the key board or upside down?

Your machine should still be covered under warranty. If you can't get to a store, Apple will ship you a box over night. The repair is done the same day as they get it. From the time you call till the time you get it back takes four days. Please give us your location for the correct center to call.

right and left are determined as the machine sits in a working position. So when you flip it over right and left are reversed:

I would also like to know which fan of a two-fan MBP is considered left vs right: is it based on normal "operating position", looking from the top of the machine? If so, then with fingers on the keyboard in typing position, the left fan would be closest to the side with the left hand, and the right fan would be the closest to the right hand. Even though it might be reversed when the machine is flipped over with the back cover off :-)
