Fan not working with new therm switch.

Fan will run with paperclip jump but will not run on new sensor, car over heats, fan does not kick in whats the deal ?

i have a honda civic 2013 , is overheating and the mechanic told me the fans didnt start on their on that he had to bang on it or something dor them to start so he say to wait till it overheat againg but i dont want to do that, anyone has an idea of what could be wrong that fans are not working properly

David, since you know your fan works when you bridge the connection and already replaced the sensor, check the green wire of the Cooling Fan Motor Switch connector. If there is no power there you have either a bad Cooling Fan Motor Switch Relay, an open between the Cooling Fan Motor Switch, or a blown fuse. the attached diagram should help you to trace the connections. My money at this point is on the relay. Hope this helps, good luck.
