battery power low and falling steadily

Last few days battery power shows 17% (stuck at this) even with AC adapter plugged in. Battery is 2 years old. I used your site to install an Airport Card which is working well. Could this be the adapter? Battery? or Battery connector?

Hi, Is this the original power adapter? The reason I ask is the first PB DVI used a 45W adapter and the 867/1GHZ used a 65W adapter. If you purchased a replacement you might have been given the smaller unit. As I recall the 45 will run the faster drive but not properly charge the battery. If this is not the case and you can find one to borrow try using a different battery to see if it charges. If it does you need to replace your battery. If not try a different power adapter. Try to borrow these items so you don't buy parts you don't need. You probably will be able to find another adapter easier than another battery. Good luck Ralph

The battery shows low and red. I am afraid to unplug it for very long. I downloaded a battery health program and it show their is battery life still (about 3/4)

I understand that but for testing purposes I'd like to see if it will last longer than 20 minutes when unplugged. No damage will occur from it shutting itself off as long as no unsaved documents are open and no tool is in the middle of writing to the disk. Basically, just leave it at a desktop with nothing open

It has been stuck at 16% power for a few days. When I unplug it, it gives me a warning that it is ready to go off.
