MacBooks powers up but dim display
Hi
I'm having a few issues with a A1226 Macbook Pro which I have a slight idea of the issue but don't want to start ordering parts unless I am certain.
I read a few other questions here with users having similar issues however mine seems to be slightly different (of course) :/
When the Mac powers on I can see a VERY faint image on the LCD when held into the light. I tried connecting to an external monitor and get nothing at all (the monitor doesn't even post) This could possibly be caused by not having a hard drive in the unit as the external monitor usually turns on once the OS has booted? Please correct me if I am wrong.
With that being said, do you guys think its the inverter board or the Left I/O board? I was thinking it could possibly be the inverter board but no video on the external monitor is making me think otherwise.. unless its not turning on because I have no drive in the unit.
I would appreciate any help that you guys can offer. Thank god for this website and all the great users. Gotta love the iNet! :)

Very Thankful for people like you who take the time to contribute to others. Thank you very much machead3. It was indeed the inverter bud. I replaced that and it lit right up!
Now I have another issue with an 2010 Macbook Pro A1278 that isn't showing anything on the display because the pins on the logic board is bent.
I'm trying to find the part number to see if I can have the LCD socket on the logic board replaced instead of paying hundreds for a new board.
Any idea where I can find this?

Instead of piggybacking a new Question on to this solved one... start a new Question... you'll get more exposure and help that wat.
