Backlight not working, is it an inverter failure?

Dear mates,

As I said, the backlight of my MBP is not working. I can see the screen very dark and the computer works perfect with a monitor. As I've read in forums, I guess is an inverter issue, I already changed the screen cause I had another issue that is already fixed, but now this backlight problem came up.I'm not sure what it could be, maybe the inverter or it may be the cable.

I've been looking in your website for a guide on how to change that part from my computer and where to buy the specific inverter for my laptop but I couldn't find them, I would appreciate any help.

These are the last caracters of my serial -X1GK

More than likely you will need to replace the fuse (probably blown) The inverter is attached to the LCD. Unless you've already replaced the lcd then I'd say it's a logic board problem or the cable for the lcd.

Thank you Alfonso, but i live in Spain so it would be quite expensive to send it to canada and then send it back apart from the repair.

As the LCD is new, I guess it could be one of both problems, the fuse or the cable, I hope is not the logic board, as I can use the laptop on an external display.

Here is a forum that has your problem. It is a really great read and should help you fix it yourself or you can send it out.
