Ripped pad off when removing battery, iPod still good?

So I was trying to desolder the battery terminals and on the very last one, it pulled the pad off the board. Is the board still good? Can I just take the pad off the battery end and reapply it?

Update

I have one that is missing in the middle and the other on the left. I was reading those links and it says something about scraping the green off. Do i scrape the dot off too? Would I just apply solder in the empty spot and tin the down side of the battery connections?

Cody, you are not the first person that this happens to. Here is my answer from a very similar question:" If the pad has been completely ripped off the board, the only options would be:

1) Find the trace the pad normally connects to, scrape off some lacquer and re-attach to a new point. or 2) Replace the whole board. You should be okay with attaching the cable to the race or the next point where the trace leads to. You need a good magnifying lamp, a steady hand and good equipment. You should also check on here Anyway to reattach solder pads? " This is from here. Check this link for all the questions/answers about solder pad repair. No, it will not work properly unless it is all connected the way it is supposed to. Yes, it is fixable. Also, check on here and take a look at this. Hope this helps, good luck.

UPDATE

Attached an image to show where you can bridge the contact. Solder wicks are braided copper, so you are runing risk of unbraiding and shortcircuiting your contacts. Take a few copper strands of that and solder those to each other to thicken the strands, 4 to 5 strands would be plenty.

I updated it with a picture. What do you mean attach to a new point? Also some of the links said something about scraping off the green. Do i scrape off the dot too? It also mentioned a copper wire. Do i have to use it? Will desoldering braid do? Can I just retin bottom of the battery connections? Could I use the 3m electric condusive tape?

No, do not scrape of the green. In your case just connect it to the copper point just below to where the original pad used to be.

On one of them I ripped of the dot. What do I do for that one?

Which one and how far did you rip it. It looked okay in the original picture you posted :-)

Hi Cody,

looks like you're lucky You still have the golden circle. All you need to do is solder the battery to the +/- Pads.

As for the broken pad.. Looking at your picture looks like it's the middle one.

There's a golden circle right underneath the missing pad. All you need to do is add some solder preferably fluxed, and attach a wire which you will be jumping to the middle pad on the battery (Basically connect the golden dot to the middle pad of the battery)

After that just cover it up with some tape and you'll be set.

can i use copper wire from the desoldering braid? how thick a wire?

door

That should be fine. Just have to connect the golden dot to the pad on the battery. Doesn't matter if it's thick or small just has to connect.
