Camera not working after damage liquid.

Hello,

I just got back my macbook after having spilled some coffe on the keyboard (the A-CMD-CTRL area). I went to the assistance, they opened it and told me that the system was ok, but there were just some not working keys. With my happy surprise, the keyboard works perfectly, but the only thing that seems not working is the camera. The laptop does not recognise it, also in the system profile is not recognised. So my question is the following: is it possible that the coffee damaged only the camera cable, and anything else, or is there the possibility that they did not connect the cable? I would like to open the case and just take a look, but I am quite afraid to damage something else.. moreover, if the assistance was so incompetent to forget about it, i would ask them to fix it.

every idea welcome

You most likely have corrosion around that area on the logic board. Before using it anymore I would suggest to get it professionally cleaned. I'm not talking about fans and dust/dirt but a board level logic board cleaning. I do them myself with in isopropyl bath and some gentle but very CAREFUL scrubbing with a small brush. Sometimes liquid can leave behind a residue that will slowly damage your computer over time. It may work fine at first and then slowly things stop working. Most of the time, a cleaning will rid most, if not all of the problems you are having on a water damaged machine, and help prevent future problems from arising. I would try to get the board cleaned which would, if board corrosion is causing the issue, fix the camera. I have repaired a decent amount of water damaged MacBook Pros and they are not easy for a first time machine. I would try to bring it into a local store that handles this kind of thing. If it was only a small spill and you haven't used the computer for a long time since the spill then you will most likely get rid of all problems.

Hope This Helps
