When a surface solder point is ripped off, finding an alternative solder point can be tricky, but it's usually possible by locating another connection that leads to the same trace or circuit.

For your Logitech G30 and the side buttons PCB connector, here's how to proceed:

=== 1. ***Identify the PCB Traces*** ===

* First, carefully inspect the PCB where the solder pad was ripped off. The copper trace running from the pad often leads to other components or vias (small holes connecting different PCB layers).
* Use a magnifying glass or microscope to track the trace that was connected to the ripped-off pad.

=== 2. ***Use a Multimeter in Continuity Mode*** ===

* Set your multimeter to continuity mode (the setting that beeps when there’s a connection).
* Place one probe on the remaining solder point of the side buttons PCB connector (if possible) or any other exposed metal from that circuit.
* Run the other probe along nearby traces or components to find a spot that still has continuity with the broken solder pad.

=== 3. ***Find Alternative Solder Points*** ===

* ***Via Points***: Check for any vias near the damaged solder pad. Vias are small holes on the PCB that connect different layers of the board. If you find one that connects to the same circuit as the damaged solder point, it can be used as an alternative solder point.
* ***Component Legs***: If the trace leads to a component, such as a resistor, capacitor, or IC pin, you can solder a wire directly to the leg of that component. Use your multimeter to confirm the component is part of the same circuit.
* ***Other Connector Pins***: Sometimes, other pins on the same connector (or a nearby connector) may share the same circuit. You can use these as an alternative solder location.

=== 4. ***Check Logitech G30 Schematics (if available)*** ===

* If you have access to the Logitech G30 schematics or can find one online, this will help you identify the exact routing of the PCB traces and where alternative solder points may be located.
* Schematics may also show test points (TP) on the board that could be useful.

=== 5. ***Use Jumper Wires for Repair*** ===

* Once you've identified an alternative solder point, you can use ***thin jumper wires*** to bridge the broken connection. Solder one end of the wire to the side buttons PCB connector and the other end to the alternative point on the PCB that you identified.
* Keep the jumper wire as short as possible to avoid adding unnecessary impedance or introducing interference.

=== 6. ***Be Careful with Heat and Pressure*** ===

* When soldering to small or delicate components, use a low-temperature soldering iron and avoid applying too much pressure, as you could damage more of the PCB traces or other nearby components.

If you're having trouble identifying an alternative solder point or tracing the circuit, you may also want to look into contacting Logitech support or checking community forums for anyone who has experience repairing that specific model.
