+Motor for disc reader not spinning - Resolved

EDIT: We purchased a replacement motor for the PS3 Super slim, and it now is fully functional! Hopefully this helps others to find the root cause of their disc not spinning, but it might not be the solution for everyone.

Hello! I have a PS3 Super slim and I believe that the motor is no longer spinning discs. The reason I suspect the problem to be the motor is because it worked for a while by tilting the front of the console up. Removing the brake and cleaning the interior of the console using the teardown guide didn't seem to change anything. The only time the disc began to spin for a few days was when it was propped up on a book. I tried manually spinning the disc and propping it up again, but it is really making minimal noise and effort to spin. I'm not sure where to start with fixing it. I've read on here that it could be a ribbon cable disconnected on the interior, but when I cleaned it out, it seemed that the cables were in place. I can check again if that is recommended, I'm not sure how to ensure that the problem isn't the ribbon cables. Should I just make sure they are in place and pushed in enough? Would the motor be the next thing to fix if the cables are all in place?

I initially had the brake taped so that it would not stop the disc, and that was when the ps3 had started working again while I had it propped up. When it stopped working from being tilted, I took out the brake entirely. The ps3 currently has no brake inside. Everything else about it is functioning normally as far as I can tell; it is just unable to spin discs. Also, it is now thouroughly clean, so I doubt that the problem is the disc sensor or any dust inside.

Any tips are appreciated! Thank you!
