Lets look at the MagSafe connector ends both the cable and the system. Often times the one-wire connection is not stable. Post the pics so we can see things as well. You may only need some cleaning, or the cord is to far gone.

You also have a second issue here as you are missing the AC power cord ground! This is where the hot side of the outlet maybe entering the system on the wrong side when other AC devices are the polar opposite! So the case of the system and the other devices metal surfaces are not the same voltage! The Apple cord is polarized and the socket needs to be as well. You can use a adapter unit but you also should connect the ground tab to the outlet boxes metal screw in the middle, hopefully the box is wired to ground.

I would recommend just getting a replacement MagSafe charger as bypassing the fuse as well as having such an exposed charger outside of a case is just not wise.
Do make sure you get a real Apple unit as many knockoffs are so badly made they will hurt your system or even you!
Many years ago one of my engineering clients forgot his charger! He was able to find one at a local store, as he was there a day early. He needed to go for dinner with his team and left the system plugged in as they went out. When returning to the hotel they encountered a bunch of fire trucks at the hotel. As it turned out the charger in his room started a fire burning the desk and drapes making a smoky mess. He was able to get his stuff and the hotel gave him another room for the night but all his cloths where smoky and his system lets say was not working either so the presentation for the client went up in smoke! The hotel sued the company 3 million USD and won! For the damages and loss income due to the fire. That was an expensive Knockoff charger!
