Hello, this worked for me but looking at reddit and other forums it might not work for everyone.
# Shut down the computer.
# Detach the power cable from the socket and laptop.
# Turn on your computer. When the logo screen is displayed, immediately press Enter and then F1 to enter ThinkPad Setup.
# Select ***Config ➙ Power***. The ***Power*** submenu is displayed.
# Select ***Disable built-in battery*** and press Enter.
# Now, to power reset press and hold the power button for 30 seconds > let go of the buttons after 30 sec.
# Plug the charger into the laptop.
# Turn on the laptop; it should now start charging.
This worked but I did notice that using Pop_OS it took a minute or so to start charging. But it does work.
I think if you removed the back and the battery it will do the same but the bios option saved me time :)
