Try a full power refresh and check if that resolves the problem
* Turn off the laptop if it is on and disconnect the charger if it is connected.

When the RTC coin cell battery is removed, measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC replace it. The part number information should be on the battery.

* Reconnect and replace the RTC coin cell battery (or its replacement), reconnect and replace the main battery, reassemble the laptop, connect the charger and check if the laptop turns on OK

If it turns on OK there may be a message about the date and time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once the date and time have been adjusted, the message won't appear the next time the laptop is turned on. Also if any user definable settings in BIOS have been changed to suit whatever your operating requirement are, they will have to be changed back again.
