Hi Filagot,

I have heard about tools available that use a computer hooked up to your phone and can supposedly bypass a forgotten password, but I do not know if they are legitimate.

The normal advice for situations like yours is to use DFU mode to do a restore of the phone. That will erase the password but unfortunately also has the downside of erasing all of the data on your phone.
