I have the same case, I’ve used the MBP2-100 quite many years on & off, bow as I pulled it out again it was dead. just as people above say. Nothing happens with just batteries, but seems to work when connected to DC in.

So it could be the 18650 cells, need to do a bit of measuring, but if there’s a cell that’s totally out, I guess the battery management disconnects the battery altogether.
