Hi @tinamathew
When the laptop is on, can you feel the hot air coming out of the vent or hear if the fan is operating? If not then there may be a problem with the laptop’s fan.
'''If the fan is operating''' then most probably it needs to be cleaned of any dust build up and the thermal paste on the CPU needs to be removed and replaced as it will have dried out, therefore the heat transfer from the CPU will be reduced and it will operate hotter.
-Here’s a [link|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STaaLHUH4Ng|video] that shows how to dis-assemble the laptop so that the motherboard can be removed giving access to the fan and the CPU.

-Here’s another [link|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhzMniatxyk|video] for a similar model which shows to remove the fan and heat sink so that the fan can be cleaned away from the laptop (less dust on motherboard) and also that the thermal paste on the CPU can be refreshed. Just search on YouTube for how to refresh the thermal paste on a laptop CPU. View from ~6:30 minutes into the video. I realize that it is not quite the same model but the 1st video doesn’t show how to remove the heatsink to show where the CPU is underneath it.

'''If the fan is not operating''' it may have to be replaced. Replacement fans are available online. Just search for ''Acer E1-571G Cooling fan'' to get results for suppliers that suit you best. See above for how to access the fan so that it can be replaced.
