It looks like there are a few opportunities for this and similar vacuums to lose suction, particularly if not properly used and emptied, but also over a longer period of regular use.
-As described before, lithium-ion batteries degrade over time but this should not cause a loss of suction. Instead, degradation of the battery will cause the run time to be shorter between required charges. If the vacuum runs for only a short time between charges, or will not charge, the battery is the problem. Lithium Ion batteries require regular use, and they require the charge to be maintained within a certain range or the battery's capacity is dramatically reduced, so if you put this vacuum on the shelf for a year, it might not work after that.
