I have tried to do something similar trying to increase my RAM. I contacted ASUS support just to get even more mad that this issue exists. After the guy disconnected with me while asking if there was anything else he could help me with I just said to myself "I have built a computer from scratch before so I am pretty tech savvy." <---Note the comment... I do not recommend going through the steps I did to try and find a solution because I am 95% sure you will not find a different result from me in the fact that there is no cure to a small 2gb RAM or the standard 32gb HDD/SDD. After I removed the bottom plate (1) this is what I found. So I attempted to remove the battery (2) and this is what I found. (Note in the second picture there are a lot of different connections that even made me hesitant to attempt to remove them). Also in image(2) I was going to attempt to remove the motherboard which is circuit board on the right of the image. This is where I stopped because after removing all connections from the motherboard I found that it was not going to budge and I wasn't sure which adapters (micro sd card reader, mini hdmi port, 3.5mm audio/mic port) were attached and it would be a pain to get those all back in if they came free. This is where I said I am getting past a lot of the stuff that I remember from 12 years ago. I am going to attempt to mark up the first drawing again to label the parts as I know them and what I believe the others are for all intensive purposes. In the markup of the parts the reason I believe that to be the RAM is because I saw the name "SK Hynix" on it and this is a company that only makes RAM chipsets. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this but it is the truth as far as I got. I know I did a lot of searching also to find help to alleviate the issue and the most clear answer I could find was that there weren't many customizable things to be done to this notebook and I believe what they mean was there are NO customizable things to be done to this notebook aside from choosing a pretty color when you buy it. (Note that I didn't even get this option because I was the last in line to get one on the release day of it). I can't post the images here but if I am able to on my profile I will do so and list them as follows:
(1) All
(2) Removed Battery
(3) Detail
