I purchased a new screen from eBay to replace a cracked screen on a iPod Touch 4th Gen. After replacing the screen I got a white blank screen. I did a hard reset and the screen showed the home screen. So I continued on to secure the screen to the iPod but the ribbon cable became pinched between the metal. The screen became white again and I haven't been able to correct this. The iPod then wouldn't even turn on or show any sign of life. I had to short the battery terminal and this allowed it to turn on again.

I tried removing the screen and reinstalling it again from scratch to no avail. I tried a hard reset again, nothing. I tried connecting the iPod to iTunes to get it into DFU mode numerous times and it just wouldn't work. Finally after, trying and trying I was able to get it into DFU mode and iTunes recognized it and restored it to factory settings.

Once the iPod was fully restored I was hoping this May fix the white screen but I was wrong. I am able to see the home screen through iTunes and the iPod is responding to syncing, but just got the darn white screen still.

Am I looking at needing to get a new screen again?
== Update ==

Update: received the replacement screen in the mail and went ahead and installed it. Everything is good to go now. The first screen I received was defective.
