Same latch system as previous laptop models, what I'm missing?

I've been prying with a plastic tool at the mythical top three latches that release the keyboard (as shown in page 16 ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_vostro_notebook/vostro-3560_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf) but I feel like I'm missing something. Nothing has cracked yet, but the keyboard is not giving was as previous keyboards have.
Is the chromed bezel to blame? Are there more screws I need to remove? Is the manual incomplete?
