Xbox 360: Xbox 360 Xenon with no power

Hi! I bought this 360 as untested for a potential old dashboard (manufacture date is 2005/10, and has never been opened until I opened it today).

The problem is, the console has no power. Doesn't respond to power button, eject button, stays off. PSU led is always orange. Here are the things i found: 1.8V standby is okay, 3.3V is okay too, at the power plug from pin 1-3 there is 0V, from pin4-7 there's 0.2V, that grows to 0.3V if plugged in, SMC_RESET_N at J2B1 PIN 6 is always low, no matter what, its at 0V. I tried to power it with my lab psu so i could find whether there's a short (thats potentially feeding back to the power connectors) but nothing. Still no life. The 3.3V is there at the RF Board so that's not the problem, the RF board also work on another motherboard. Already tried to reflow the NAND, Southbridge, and ANA to no success yet. Any ideas what could cause this? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks for reading!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, that i measured connectivity between J2B1 Pin 6, and all the points that are mentioned being connected to SMC_RESET_N, and all seems fine.

So my Xbox is not turning on , when I turn it on by power button it's fans starts and it gives a beep and fans stop then like in a second , also the power brick light gets green and then again orange as it's fans stops , tell me how to fix it please I'm in a great problem

Hi there reader,

So as of lately my Xbox 360 broke the laser didn’t work anymore but I did fix it I replaced it a month ago and it now works. As of now I wanted to boot up COD MW2 to play and my laser is now not reading it and it says open tray but only 3 weeks ago it was fine playing games. So I wanted to ask should I replace it again or change the voltage of the laser or fix my belt because I got a whole new disc drive and yes I paired with the original circuit board and disc drive board. So I’m confused as why am I having problems but only 3 weeks ago I was fine. If anyone can help me out please I would appreciate it.

Xbox 360: Xbox 360 turns on by itself, then disc tray open and closes repeatedly

Whenever I plug my Xbox 360 into power, within 10 seconds it will automatically turn itself on and the disc tray will repeatedly open and close. Sometimes it will start closing before it is fully opened. I have taken it apart and replaced the drive belt with a brand new one that is not warped/stretched. That did not help the issue. How can I tell if maybe the board is bad or eject button is broken or it is potentially overheating? No warnings pop up on screen. Sometimes if I put a game in, it will stop long enough to start the game and then the tray opens again which boots me back to the menu so I cannot play disc-based games. If I start a digital game such as Minecraft I can continue playing while the tray opens and closes constantly.

Hey I recently got a second hand Xbox 360 Elite and as the disc tray wouldn’t open due to a damaged cogwheel I decided to replace the LiteOn disc drive with a replacement one.

I made sure to remove the board from the original console’s disc tray and solder it on to the replacement one. All seemed just fine but I’m new to soldering and console repairs in general.

It worked a treat and now I have a working disc tray that opens and closes and reads discs fine.

My only issue is that sometimes when I put a disc in it will say “Play DVD”. Every time this has happened I can open the tray, adjust the disc a little and then it will read and load the game fine.

My question is what is the likely cause of the play dvd issue? Could it be a shoddy solder job with the wires on the board?

Does the laser need adjusting or cleaning?

It doesn’t seem to be a serious problem because I can always get games to play but if I can eliminate the issue that would be great.

Xbox 360: DVD drive not working properly

So this xbox 360 got into my hands, which had gone through a power spike or an outage. And now the dvd drive is not reading disks. It opens and closes fine, but when you put in the disk, it spins it for about 2 seconds and then just stops. The owner replaced the disk drive, but the issue is still there. Help

Xbox 360: green ring of death.

Basically my xbox turns on and shows a green light but does nothing. Nothing come on the screen, the pad turns on but doesn't respond. and when you unplug the pad and reattach plug it in it doesn't have power to it (wired pad).

Is it the same problem as the red ring or something worse?

I had the RROD so I replaced all the bad caps. It now works but turns off after 5-10 minutes while playing a game. Should I relace all the caps.

I'm very new to tech DIY, but it is new found interest and I am trying my best, I bought a project 360 and everything works fine apart from the disc drive. I took the housing off the disc drive, put a game in it, built it back up and it reads fine, but won't open on it's own. I think the slider mechanism slides too far, locking it in position but I'm not sure. I will provide photos for reference, since it reads discs I'd rather fix it than replace it and waste the rest of the parts. Thanks.

My Xbox 360 wasn't loading disks so I looked It upp on youtube and disassembled the whole thing. Then I understood that I needed to adjust the potentiometer but accidentally did it to much, now I have been trying for over 2 hours to get to its original position! I heard that a multimeter could help but I don't have one or know how to use it.

Well. recently i PicoFlashed my XBOX. after messing with dashlaunch, my NAND corrupted. so i picoflashed. the LOG if you want to see:

The console is LTU (i think). Is jasper. pure. without RGH or JTAG.
Well. after the flash, we tried to turn it on. but nothing happened. the controller wont receive power. the brick stays orange.
i know the led on the brick changes according to consumption. without anything connected, the led is slightly weaker. with the XBOX connected, it gets a bit brighter. this is normal response. with the xbox broken or not. but, she stays orange. without trying to get on.

i could try to force her on. but i doubt that this would be a good idea. and probably some magic smoke you come off him.

Either i think maybe a small ball of Solder joint got off and its shorting somewhere else.
We shaken it a bit to see if anything would come out. bur nothing really came out.

I need help. My tray wont stay closed. It closes for like two secs and then opens right back up. Also theres a green blinking light that never stops blinking idk if that has something to do with it.
