Nikon D700: Metering Selector Dial Repair

The metering selector dial on my D700 is broken. The dial spins freely 360 degrees but the camera stays in the center weighted metering mode. Does anyone know if it is possible to repair that part and, if so, any resources on how I would go about it?

Nikon D5100: Half the Picture is Black

Hi,

About a week ago, I noticed when I took a few pictures half of the image was covered in solid black.

I changed shutter speeds, reset the camera to factory settings and changed lenses but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

Now all my pictures have this issue so it seems to be progressive.

A local repair place said it might be something to do with the mirror box.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi, Thank you for the response. The Mirror does go up quickly and back down again. Looking at the pics, it is the top of the image that is black.

Nikon D5500: Whirring noise with shutter release depressed

My Nikon D5500 (after approximately 750,000 exposures) has begun protesting its photographic regimen by merely making a high pitched whirring noise when the shutter release is pressed down. (No photos either…)

The first time it did this, I took off the lens to look inside, and managed to get the shutter assembly (mirror assembly?) to come unstuck. Took a couple more pictures, but then the mirror (and whatever else inside the camera) doesn’t seem to come unstuck now.

Any thoughts on what to expect to have to do to get this workhorse of a camera up and running again…? Or is it wiser to simply update to the D5600?

Nikon B500: screen all black after new lcd repair

so I just repaired a b500 I got for cheap and after putting the new LCD in i noticed its all black nothing shows up all I hear is the sounds the menu doesn't show either I put the old one in and the same thing even though it worked before I heard Nikon has like auto-off after an LCD repair but I don't know how to turn the LCD on any advice would help

Nikon D3200: What is this triangular plastic bit from my Nikon D3200 body?

A Nikon D3200 stopped autofocusing. Going in the clean the AF sensor (yes, that was the issue, we tested several different lenses on different bodies) we found this odd thing sticking up from the bottom.

Additionally, there is at least one more.

here’s a separate camera that shows this isn’t there:

checked across 3 cameras, the weird one is the only one with any of this going on.

Nikon coolpix L830 started to place messages , card can not be read., i turn it off them On and it worked.

Now the camera does not turn on with the batteries , I plug it to the power supply and that's how it works.

Nikon D700: The autofocus light does not illuminate and autofocus is off.

The autofocus light does not illuminate therefore autofocusing is not working. The lens will not stop focusing and if you press the shutter, all the images are blurred because autofocus did not occur.

Nikon COOLPIX S9500: My camera fell and the lense cover is broken.

The lense cover that opens when powering up is broken. How do I replace just the cover piece? When I power down, the lense doesn't retract all the way to a flat view.
