Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Microphone not working after changing the battery

Hello Community !

Everything is in the title, my internal mic do not work after I changed the battery.

I tested everything except, of course, the microphone, which I forgot, before closing back the Surface.

Of course, I am afraid that I broke the mic but what seems strange, hence my question, is that Windows does not detect anything suspicious about it.

Is it possible that I broke my mic but Windows still detect it as functioning as ever ?

In fact, the device manager shows it, nothing wrong, but when I speak, no sound.

I could actually live without it and use, when needed, an external headset but maybe you people have a trick for fixing it.

Thanks in advance,

Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Surface Pro 4 battery charge capacity negative; Surface only stays on

I had an expanding battery issue about 6 months ago and got my battery replaced. The new battery worked fine until this month, but now my surface only stays on when plugged in and no longer works on the battery. The status indicator says "255% available (plugged in)". When I ran a battery report, it looked like at the beginning of this month the battery capacity increased by 50x, then precipitously declined over the next 3 weeks until now, when the battery capacity shows -1 mWh. I 've been reading about Schottky diodes being possible causes of this. Is there any way to know if the battery is the issue, or if it's something else like the battery Schottky diode?

Chips from battery report are below:

Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Touch Screen horizontal dead zone

Hello I have followed the I fixit instructions as well as others and replaced my faulty sp4 screen with a brand new LG sp5 screen (screen displays perfect) I have also replaced the LBoard (ntrig) with a new one. When I'm in Windows 10 I have a 2 inch horizontal dead zone about 1/4 of an inch down from the top of the screen. Neither finger or pen work in this area,

If I boot in uefi it demonstrates the same behaviour,

Note1: I have also fitted my original ntrig (Lboard) aswell and have the same problem.

Note2: I have run all diagnostic test in surface Diagnostics, done fresh restore on Windows,

Note3: I have not yet replaced the digitalizer cable.

Is it possible I have a defective screen or digitalizer cable?

Microsoft Surface Pro 4: Why is separating the screen proving to be so difficult?

I recently purchased a new battery and it's replacement tool kit from Ifixit to replace the battery in my Microsoft Surfsce Pro 4.

I was following the step-by-step instructions for replacing the battery, when I ran into my main challenge; rying to separate the screen from the main body of the device.

The step I was on involved using the iOpener heating pad to apply heat to the screens edge, in order to weaken the adhesive enough to gently pry it loose. The instructions were clear in that I should apply the iOpener to the screen edge in 2 minute increments. I might have to reapply it several times in order to get the screens edge warm enough to weaken the adhesive. But not soo warm as to damage the electronics underneath the glass or cause heat shock to the glass itself.

My problem is this: I've been unable to get the screen edge warm enough to weaken the adhesive. I have applied the iOpener heating paf in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 minute increments on separate attempts. Everytime, as soon as I remove the iOpener heating pad, the heat almost immediately bleeds away, and I'm left unable to wedge the provided tools underneath the edge of the glass.

I feel as if I'm not doing something correctly, but am unsure what that would be. Am I simply not applying enough heat? Where is he line between enough heat to weaken the adhesive and enough heat to damage the underlying electronics. I would greatly appreciate any insights and or advice into this matter, as this is the first time I have attempted this kind of repair. Thank you.
