Yesterday the laptop was at 95% and in almost a minute the charge dropped to 10, recharging only brings it into 14 or so, which is definitely not a great sign, so i want to check on the battery to see if it's a fire hazard (spicy pillow) that need a replace

(Was using fedora-atomic-based linux at that time if that's helpful)

I have an HP Omen X 2S 15-dg0020nr. I just replaced its old/original genuine HP battery with an iFixit replacement battery, which appears to be made by BTI as a direct compatible replacement. I charged the laptop to 100% and kept the AC adapter attached for another 2 hours per iFixit's instruction. When trying to run the computer on battery power, it just shuts down within a minute or so. I have all the latest BIOS, firmware, drivers, everything. I have no idea what's going on. If I put the worn out original HP battery back in the laptop, everything works, even though the old HP battery has reduced capacity. If I put the new iFixit BTI battery in the laptop, it just shuts down within a minute or so, even in BIOS, let alone in Windows. I suspect the "new" battery might have been sitting on a shelf for so long that it has deteriorated or something of the sort. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I accidentally allowed foam cleaner to access the inside cover of my hp elite book 840 g2 and afterwards the battery has been behaving really awkwardly. every time i power it on without the AC adapter, it does not completely come on. it shuts down before completion of the power on process with a click sound . but whenever i use the adapter, there ain't such a problem. this happened immediately after exposure to the foam cleaner and has been the same ever since. i believe the motherboard is the one that was affected as it was close to the ventilation regions at the time of exposure. how should i go about this. please help.

HP 250 G8: Laptop not seeing the hard drive

The laptop turned off on its own one day due to high temperature and after that day it has refused to boot from the hard drive. When ever the laptop is switched on it shows operating system not found, press f2 for diagnostic. Even after doing the diagnostics it still won't both. What could be the issue?

I wrongly connected wires of PC charger , it gave a message and shutdown (I don't remember )

Ever since then it has not been able to charge laptop battery

But when I put the same battery on another PC it charged

Power switch -> power light ->6sec -> blinking LEDx3 (cap lk, num lk?) -> 12sec -> fan at high speed -> 6sec -> LED stop blinking

The whole time, the screen is black

Yes, Ive done a power reset.

This is a freebie, I had to add RAM 2x4gb=8gb, keyboard is warped (from removing RAM?) I’ve not put a HHD in yet.
