My GoPro says the wifi is turned on but my phone/laptop/ipad do not see it. Seems like maybe the antennae?

GoPro Hero3: It keeps turning off and on by itself

Out of nowhere, when I power on my GoPro Hero 3 Black, it turns off and on, repeatedly, by itself, until I remove the battery.

There was no shock to the camera when it stopped working, no water damage, maybe a hotter than usual day, but nothing crazy.

I've tried:

removing the battery
removing the SD card
different battery
upgrading the firmware (didn't work, power cycles but with the firmware upgrade process)
tearing it apart and looking for loose/broken connections

No luck.

Any ideas?

GoPro Hero3: How to replace the house-latch/lock in a GoPro Hero3 Silver?

So, I'm having a struggle finding a spare house latch/lock. The black thing on-top of the waterproof housing which holds the door shut.

Where can I find one?

I don't want to buy a whole new housing when the only thing wrong is the lock.

PS Those I find on eBay are only for GoPro Hero 2...

GoPro Hero3 Black: Rear Red Flashing Light

After trying the numerous different possible solutions I have found on the interwebs, I have not been able to solve this problem. After inserting a fully charged, known good battery into the camera, after hitting the power button all I seem to get is a flashing red light on the back of the camera. As mentioned, I have tried all the different hocus pocus solutions I have been able to find but to no avail. Any ideas before I send it in for repair?

The wifi button is stuck, so it turns on and off continuously.

I tried to search for the solutions.

People mostly recommend to change the button, as this is a common problem.

Are there any other ways to solve this?

And where can I get this button?

Are there some repair centers by my location?

(Russia, Kazan)

Would GoPro officials count this as warranty case?

Market gave 1 year warranty, now it's 14 monts since I bought it.

GoPro Hero 3 Silver: Gopro hero 3 water damaged in salt water? help?

It may be too late but last afternoon the case cracked and some water got in, I noticed some salt forming from the water evaporating and also noticed it was getting pretty hot. I took out the battery and SD card but the SD card is broken. Now it will not turn on or charge. Again it might be too late but any ideas?

Where the cable goes into charge, it looks like the pin connector inside the Hero 3 has broken off and missing.

I only noticed it after daughter has had it for past 6 months!

How do you replace it? Do you have to replace the motherboard?

It appears that the connections inside the USB port are physically damaged. I cannot get the unit to charge. Can the port be replaced or is the camera scrap?

Hi,

I was using my GoPro Hero 3+ (Black edition) without the poly-carbonate cover. It took a fall from about 10 metres. When I recovered it, the front LCD screen was cracked and the micro SD card had come out.

When I tried to turn it on it beep like normal, when I put the micro SD card back in I noticed the slot was extremely hot to touch (burning hot), then the GoPro turn off with no noise.

I tried plugging the GoPro into my laptop to check the micro SD card but the GoPro would not stay on after putting the micro SD card in, so I can't even use it as a card reader.

GoPro 3+ (Black edition) is not a cheap camera and I have only had it for about 4 months.

Has anyone had a total failure of there GoPro and was able to get it back to a working state?

with the battery bacpac connected;

when its charged, there is no problem.

but when completely discharged (camera battery still has charge), when i turn it off :

1. it turns off, after a few seconds turns on by itself. doesn't happen once. i keep turning it off many times. its so frustrating.

2. just 2 of the LEDs blink. those on bottom and back, and they blink weakly, like they're not getting enough power. and the display screen kinda blinks too... its like off, but gets dark and bright.... :\ strange.

any help?

The GoPro won't turn on at all, it should be charged. The wifi won't turn on or anything.

whenever I have the battery in the camera the wifi turns on with out me pushing the button on the side, I have to keep the battery out of the camera so it doesn’t drain. even if I turn the wifi off in the setting, app, or pushing the wifi button on the camera it still turns on on its own.
