hello, the round button for changing the modus (on top of the camera) broke off. I wonder if I can attach it again (with glue for exemple) or if I can change modus by turning the little “borders” that show instead”?

de modusschakelaar (knop waaraan je draait om van modus te veranderen) van mijn fototoestel is losgekomen (afgekraakt?). hierdoor kan ik enkel nog de optie ‘filmen’ gebruiken. ik kan dus niet meer kiezen voor een andere ‘modus’.

1) kan ik die knop terug vastmaken op het toestel? (bv lijmen)

2) kan ik veranderen van modus zónder de knop. Onder de knop, op het toestel zelf dus, zie ik 3 “randjes”. Heb geprobeerd om daaraan te draaien maar lukt niet. (zou het binnenin geblokkeerd zijn?)

Hi all! I recently acquired a Canon Powershot S90. The screen powers on, BUT does show some signs of slight damage at the top and bottom (instead of being black its slightly yellowish). Additionally, lens opens and all buttons on the camera itself appear to work. The only issue is that when the lens fully opens it for some reason cannot show a picture. Any ideas what might be causing this issue? It takes photos just fine but obviously there completely black.

I'm having a problem with my Powershot A590. The camera appears locked with the lens extended. Now I can't open the battery compartment to replace the batteries. Normally, to open the compartment you slide the battery compartment lever on the cap forward and then slightly to the left as the arrow indicates but the battery container will not move left. I'm stuck with a camera with the lens fully extended but no lights or indication of power at all. No images can be seen on the view finder, no illumination at all. How can I get the battery container open to replace the batteries without breaking the camera?

For context, my friend gave me this ixus 95 (Sd1200) camera to keep, and it said to replace the battery so i charged it up, and it worked fine. When i tried to use the autofocus function, since it was still blurry, it wouldn't work, so i kept trying and eventually the camera effectively crashed, leaving the lens extended, now every time i power it on, it does a couple clicking noises then hands me a lens error. I was looking at the lens and the gap between the lens itself and the casing it a little uneven. I want to know if there is anyway to fix it. (for added context, my friend had it in their room for a while and its been a while since they tried turning it on.
